Found my old library card. Remember when we’d borrow things instead of buying them? When we’d return what we finished instead of hoarding it?
We’ve lost the art of temporary:
- 🛒 Buying when we could borrow
- 🏠 Owning when we could share
- 📦 Keeping when we could release
- 🔄 Storing when we could return
📌 The ownership obsession:
- 🏆 Collecting experiences like trophies
- 🖼️ Holding memories like possessions
- ✊ Gripping moments like property
- ⏳ Claiming time like territory
🚩 Signs you’re stuck in permanent mode:
- 📸 Your photos never get deleted
- 📧 Your inbox never gets cleared
- 🎁 Your belongings never get donated
- 🕰️ Your past never gets processed
🌟 What libraries teach us:
- 📖 Not everything needs to be kept
- 🔁 Some things are meant to circulate
- 💡 Value comes from using, not having
- 🌸 Joy is in the experience, not the ownership
Because sometimes, the best things in life are borrowed.
