Angelo Valenti

Found my old library card. Remember when weโ€™d borrow things instead of buying them? When weโ€™d return what we finished instead of hoarding it?

Weโ€™ve lost the art of temporary:

  • ๐Ÿ›’ Buying when we could borrow
  • ๐Ÿ  Owning when we could share
  • ๐Ÿ“ฆ Keeping when we could release
  • ๐Ÿ”„ Storing when we could return

๐Ÿ“Œ The ownership obsession:

  • ๐Ÿ† Collecting experiences like trophies
  • ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Holding memories like possessions
  • โœŠ Gripping moments like property
  • โณ Claiming time like territory

๐Ÿšฉ Signs youโ€™re stuck in permanent mode:

  • ๐Ÿ“ธ Your photos never get deleted
  • ๐Ÿ“ง Your inbox never gets cleared
  • ๐ŸŽ Your belongings never get donated
  • ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ Your past never gets processed

๐ŸŒŸ What libraries teach us:

  • ๐Ÿ“– Not everything needs to be kept
  • ๐Ÿ” Some things are meant to circulate
  • ๐Ÿ’ก Value comes from using, not having
  • ๐ŸŒธ Joy is in the experience, not the ownership

Because sometimes, the best things in life are borrowed.
